Do Not Fear

Being a new mom is kinda scary. So many worries and fears that come along with having a new life in your hands. The sermon series at Grace has helped me to take my eyes off of myself and my newborn baby and to place them on King Jesus. We have been working through Hebrews 2 which states that God has put "all things are in subjection under His feet." It has been so comforting to meditate on the Kingship and Kingdom of Christ. He sits on his throne at the right hand of the Father governing sovereignly and lovingly. He is in complete control and nothing happens without his willing it to. These verses have been my strongholds during this season:
  •  6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And thegovernment will rest on His shoulders ; And His name will be called Wonderful CounselorMightyGodEternal FatherPrince of Peace7 There will be no end to the increase of His governmentor of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it withjustice and righteousness From then on and forevermore The zeal of the LORD of hosts willaccomplish this.- Isaiah 9:6-7
  • "The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfectpeace, Because he trusts in You- Isaiah 26:3
  •  5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not leanon your own understanding6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your pathsstraight7 Do not be wise in your own eyes ; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil8 It will behealing to your body And refreshment to your bones. -Proverb 3:5-8
  • 25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or whatyou will drink ; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and thebody more than clothing ? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sownor reap norgather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life ? 28 "And why are you worried about clothing ? Observe how the lilies of the field grow ; they do not toil nor do theyspin, 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith ! 31 "Do not worry thensaying,'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will wear for clothing?' 32 "For the Gentileseagerly seek all these things ; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34"So do not worry about tomorrow ; for tomorrow will care for itselfEach day has enough troubleof its own.- Matthew 6:25-34
  • 1 "Do not let your heart be troubled ; believe in Godbelieve also in Me- John 14:1
  •  6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace- Romans 8:6
  •  3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representationof His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification ofsins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrew 1:3
  •  6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayerand supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God7 And the peace ofGod, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-8
  •  6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand ofGod, that He may exalt you at the proper time7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
I am so thankful for the Holy Spirit, the comforter, who uses God's word to speak to my heart and meets me in my time of needs. I am also thankful for the body, who has been continually pointing me towards Christ and encouraging me to trust in Him. Most of all I am thankful for Jesus, who knows all the stars by name and the number of hairs on my baby's head. Not a sparrow falls to the ground apart from His will. He is Lord and for that I am thankful. May His peace rule in the Minton's hearts (Col. 3:15)
