Firsts

So this past month has been a crazy one and full of first for Baby Jed:
  • December 18th- First Wedding
    • We headed down to Little Rock for cousin Leah's wedding on Dec. 18th. This was Jed's first wedding and he got dressed up for the occasion. It was a beautiful wedding at the Marlsgate Plantation in England, AR. We all love Dustin and are excited to have him as part of the family.
Kyle held Jed most of the time. He's a proud Uncle!
    Leah looked gorgeous as always

  • Decemeber 19th- First Christmas
    • While in Little Rock we had Christmas with my parents, my grandparents and my dad's side of the family. I'm pretty sure Jed now owns every toy labeled 3+ months that they have in stores. Here a few pics from all the Christmas action:
    Loving some Mamaw
    and some fingers.
    Grandad being Grandad
Passed out in the recliner after all the fun!
Meeting Uncle Tim for the first time
    Mr. and Mrs. Brazil
The cousins: Evan, Shelby and Alex
  • December 25th- First Christmas Day
    • Well this was my year to work Christmas. Joel was going to spend it with his family at his sister's house. But, his sister got the flu the week before and we were advised by the ped. to not go over there. So Joel and Jed got to spend all Christmas day together at the house. They had good Daddy/Son time and Joel sent me this pic of him in his Christmas PJ's.
    Fun times with daddy...
and we got to have some fun that night when I got home!
  • December 31st- First New Years Eve
    •  We spent New Years Eve with our dear GC friends at First Baptist in West Memphis. We played games and Joel played basketball. Lil man did so good. We didn't quite make it till midnight, we left at 1100, but we rang in 2011 at home as a family of 3!
Lil Man got dressed up for the event
  • January 3rd- First Bubble Bath
    • Since my last post everything has gone down hill as far as sleeping. Jed now wakes up every 1-2 hours and is unable to get himself back to sleep. I blame myself for all those naps in my arms, but they were worth it! In effort to get him back on a normal sleeping pattern we are establishing a bedtime routine. This night we decided to add the calming bubble bath to his water. Pretty sure it didn't work, but it was fun anyways!
  • January 4th-  First Bowl game
    • Jed watched his first bowl game with Joel out at Aunt Amanda and Uncle Ryan's (the biggest Hog fan we know) They also got him this adorable lil jersey for Christmas. Jed got pretty upset about the loss..or he might have been a little overstimulated by the massive loud TV and screaming fans..guess we'll never know.
4 months old today!
  • January 7th- First Ear Infection
      • Friday we went for Jed's 4 month shots. While there we discovered he had an ear infection and put on 10 days of Amoxicillin, which by the way are not very nice to lil man's tummy. He has handled it pretty well, but hasn't been eating a lot, We went back on Wed. to make sure the antibiotics were working and the ear infection was gone. He had lost 3 ounces from not eating as much :(. He also got put on probiotics to restore what the antibiotics killed off. You have to mix it in cold water. Try getting a 4 month old to suck down cold water...impossible. We're hoping once he gets over all of this and starts sleeping!!
  • January 8th- First Fever
    • Along with his first ear infection and shots came his first fever. It was around 101 even after some Tylenol. It was the weekend so we called the nurse. They just told us that if it got over 105 to go to the ER. Really? 105?? Thankfully it never got that high and he got over it by Monday morning.
  • January 9-10th- First Snow
    • We had our first big snow in Memphis that Monday and Tuesday. Since lil man was sick we used that time to stay at home and snuggle and we didn't set a foot in the snow...Maybe next time.
  • January 21st- First Apple Sauce
    • We gave him his probiotics in apple sauce the other night after talking with our pediatrician. I thought he would love it... well as you can tell by his facial expressions..I was wrong.
We'll it has been an exhausting and exciting past few weeks. Looking forward to keeping you posted on what's happening around the Minton household inside and out!
